Spay/Neuter Program:
In February 2007, PAWS launched its Spay/Neuter Voucher Program for residents of Teton County, WY. Everyone was eligible for some level of financial support. Each voucher had a specific value depending on the type of service and on the income level of the pet owner.
This program was a huge success for PAWS. In 2007, we sponsored over 55 surgeries for pet owners who otherwise would not have been able to afford this procedure. Those 55 surgeries prevented the birth of thousands of animals that likely would have ended up in our local shelter or worse, abandoned and left to fend for themselves in our harsh climate.
Since our goal is to encourage as many people in our area to Spay or Neuter their pets, we are thrilled to offer FREE Spay & Neuter Vouchers in 2008 to everyone in Teton County, WY. This new program which intends to reach out to those in financial need, would not have been possible without the collaboration of all our local veterinarians, including:
Animal Care Clinic
Fish Creek Vet Clinic
Jackson Hole Vet Clinic
Spring Creek Animal Hospital
Teton Vet Clinic

In the United States, thousands of puppies and kittens are born each day because of the uncontrolled breeding of pets. Stray and abandoned animals add thousands more offspring to the population. The result is a huge number of dogs and cats for whom there are no homes.
TThe single most important thing we can do as to curb this problem is to spay or neuter our own pets. Secondly, by implementing a community-wide sterilization program, we can stop high reproduction rates and decrease the number of animals that end up at our local shelter.
On any given day, there are over 40 homeless animals at the Jackson/Teton County Animal Shelter. Only 30-40% of the animals that come to the Jackson/Teton County Animal Shelter are spayed or neutered.
Spay or neuter surgery carries a one-time cost that is relatively small when one considers its benefits. It's a small price to pay for the health of your pet and the prevention of more unwanted animals. Please call PAWS today to get your FREE voucher at 734-2441! .
