Membership in the Dog Park is not required to use the park, but it is a nice way to support PAWS of Jackson Hole and to allow us to continue to provide a positive park experience. All proceeds from memberships will be used for park upkeep and improvements.
Memberships are $50 and include a leash, member dog tag and free admission to any other dog park events that we do throughout the year.

About the Park:
PAWS of Jackson Hole announced the Grand Opening of the new PAWS Dog Park – Sophie’s Place: dedicated to the life and spirit of Kristen Ardinger Karn and her beloved dog, Sophie. The park is located at 250 Scott Lane in Jackson and opened on Thursday, August 26th. This new facility, the culmination of 10-years of efforts by the PAWS organization, offers off-leash space where local four-legged friends can play and socialize off of public trails and away from wildlife. This space gives people the opportunity to meet and mingle with other like-minded dog owners and form community bonds. Plus, it gives local workers a place to take their dogs before and after work for much needed exercise.
“PAWS has always known what many communities across the United States have acknowledged; that dog parks are vital community facilities that promote responsible dog ownership,” said Amy Romaine, Executive Director. “We want to honor the life of Kristen Karn, a passionate animal lover and advocate, who was an integral part of this community and whose loss has left a void in the hearts of many Jackson residents.”
The PAWS Dog Park is funded 100% by private donors, grants and business sponsorships. PAWS would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the following organizations: Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, Pierson Landworks, Westy’s LLC, and to all the individuals who donated to this park to ensure its success.
Park Rules:
- Dogs must be on leash when entering and exiting the Park.
- Dogs must be current on rabies vaccination and have a current license. Vaccination proof and license is
- required upon request of an Animal Control Officer or park volunteer.
- Choke, prong, pinch and spike collars are strictly prohibited.
- No children under the age of 16 are permitted unless accompanied by an adult. We do not recommend bringing
- small children and infants into the park.
- Aggressive dogs are not permitted on the premises. Dogs must be removed at the first sign of aggression.
- Owners are legally responsible for any bodily injury and property damage caused by their dog.
- Female dogs in heat are prohibited in the park.
- Dogs under the age of four (4) months are prohibited.
- Dog owners must be in the park and within view of their dogs at all times.
- All off-leash dogs must be under voice control of their owners.
- Dog owners must keep their leash in hand at all times.
- Individuals are limited to bringing 3 dogs into the park at one time.
- Owner must clean up dog waste; seal waste in the provided mutt mitt bags before disposing in designated receptacles.
- Dog owners must fill any holes that their dog digs.
- Failure to abide by the park rules will result in loss of privileges.
- Please report any incidents or altercations that require law enforcement to Jackson Hole Animal Control at 733-2331.
- Call PAWS of Jackson Hole if you have any questions regarding the rules of this park or to report maintenance issues.
Disclaimer: By entering the PAWS Dog Park, I agree to abide by all rules and regulations of this Park under penalty of law and I indemnify and hold harmless the Town of Jackson and PAWS of Jackson Hole for all loss, damage or cost that I and/or my dog may suffer as a result of the use of the Park.
I waive and discharge the Town of Jackson and PAWS of Jackson Hole, its officers, agents and employees from all liability to me, my spouse, legal representatives, heirs and assigns from any and all loss or damage, claims or damages (including attorney’s fees) resulting from my use of this Park. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Town of Jackson and PAWS of Jackson Hole for any activity resulting in injury to me or my dog utilizing this Park, whether caused by negligence of the Town of Jackson or PAWS of Jackson Hole, or other persons utilizing the Park (or their respective dogs) or brought as a result of my use of the Park or any negligence by me in my use of the Park.
By entering this Park, I acknowledge that I HAVE READ this waiver of liability, assumption of risk and fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including the right to sue. I acknowledge that by entering this Park, I intend a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
